Labyrinth
Labyrinthus Touraine |
 |
At Reignac-sur-Indre, on route N143, 20 minutes south of Tours and Amboise,
you can play around and get lost in a 15 hectare park made up of 4 labyrinths,
created by Isabelle de Beaufort et Bernard Ramus.
In the Giant Corn Labyrinth, as you walk through the hedges, you'll
meet the different characters from the " Petit Prince " by Saint-Exupéry,
played by 12 actors in costumes that closely resemble the author's original
watercolor paintings.
The Door Labyrinth is a maze broken up by a series of mysterious
doors. In order to open them you have to compose the password that you
will get from solving a riddle with clues hidden here and there on the
paths. |
The Children's labyrinth is made up of towers, tunnels, and distorting
mirrors... a real treat for 3 to 6 year olds, especially with its illustrated
inner walls (by Gallimard publications).
The Grass Labyrinth is a very complex maze of grass alleys.
The Labyrinth exhibit presents the most famous labyrinths in the world
in miniature plant reproductions.
From the top of the panoramic tower, 50 meters off the ground, the labyrinths
become the celestial backdrop for the " Petit Prince": 10 hectars
of planets and stars, like the works of a giant clock… |

Our impressions:
The children (10 years old) loved getting lost in the giant labyrinth
(with Daddy trying to decipher the map). The well-staged live show captivated
them and encouraged them to read Saint-Exupéry's book again.
The Door Labyrinth does not have enough riddles to solve. Children would
like to have more physical movements to perform in order to solve the
riddle.
The Grass Labyrinth is really for "old folks".
Losing yourself is a game. There's no need to worry. The nice, young
personnel is there to help and guide you. |
